How to maintain tires

Tires are the only component of all trucks that comes into contact with the ground and is most prone to wear and tear, so the maintenance of truck tires is particularly important. So, what are the tips for maintaining heavy-duty truck tires?

1.Choose a good road surface. When driving on rural roads or highway construction roads, you should choose low-speed gear to avoid collisions or even scratches on the tires. Slow down on uneven roads to avoid tire wear and other component wear. Choose a solid, non muddy, and non slippery road to avoid excessive tire wear caused by idling and tire side scratches caused by sinking.

2.When parking, it is also necessary to choose a flat road surface to avoid stones or sharp objects, and not let the tires park on oil or acidic substances. When parking, do not turn the steering wheel in place to increase tire wear.

3.When the tires overheat during prolonged driving in summer, you should stop and rest to dissipate heat. If the air pressure is too high, it is strictly prohibited to release the air pressure or splash water to cool down, to prevent abnormal aging of the tire tread rubber.

4.Reasonably follow the manufacturer’s guidance to control the air pressure. When the air pressure is too low, the tire shoulder will wear too quickly. When the air pressure is too high, the middle part of the tire tread will increase wear, and there will be a risk of tire blowout,

5.Control the vehicle speed, especially when turning corners, it is necessary to slow down appropriately in advance to avoid inertia and centrifugal force accelerating unilateral tire wear. When going downhill for a long time, the vehicle speed should be controlled reasonably according to the slope size to avoid emergency braking and reduce tire wear. Do not start too hard, and avoid frequent use of emergency braking. When crossing narrow roads, railway speed bumps, intersections, and red ahead, it is necessary to observe in advance and slide in neutral appropriately, Avoid using one foot of the accelerator and one foot of the brake, which consumes both fuel and tires.

If there is abnormal wear on one side or tread of the tire, it is necessary to go to the service station for inspection, such as performing four-wheel alignment or dynamic balancing, and if necessary, replacing the pull arm sleeve. In short, maintaining a car is not an easy task and requires frequent inspection. If there are any small problems, observe them in advance and eliminate them in advance
